The dog’s corpse
Lies slowly moldering
In the gutter,
Ready to blow away
With the wind,
New mother
Walking along,
Showing her child
All the wonder and
Growing joy
Nature provides in the
Summer
Ignoring the dead dog
I see,
Stepping around
The piles of
Leaves.
