Heartbreak Hotel
-Linda Lee Lyberg
I know you’re a local
At the Heartbreak Hotel
Your love and leave in ruins
Fits in here so well.
You revel in the power
Within your haunting eyes
To bring a naive soul down
And cover them in your lies.
Promising them a future life
You take whatever you want
Leave them desperately alone
So your eyes will forever haunt.
Those innocent young hearts
Once whole, but now broken
From your wandering lust
A shattered heart, their only token.
But with your leaving a lesson
Your love, not what they thought
For your love was only needy lust
And lust can always be bought.
