Gone Forever

by Abigail Gronway

Washing my laundry, I thought—
The time I have wasted.
I should have invested it
in my studies while the year was young,
or employed it in a way so as to
be of help to others.
But now it’s gone with the water
and the soap.
Gone forever,
like the letters I never wrote,
the cards I never sent,
and the love I never showed.

  1. Beautiful work. I love the imagery of soap and the bubbles being gone like the things we wish we would have done.
