WITH A CHILDLIKE HOPE AND A HEARTFELT PRAYER

by thereluctantpoet

By Charles Robert Lindholm

It was an offense
but was it intentional? No!
and I’ve begged Her forgiveness
now that I know

In my haste and exuberance
a sin, unintended
and I prayed to the Lord
that this breach may be mended

Not one second of pain
would I give to Her heart
and my Soul’s so worried
this may tear us apart

So, I wait
and I wonder
with my heart
in Her hand

With a childlike hope
that She will understand
and Forgive Me
Please Forgive Me

Perhaps I should take up painting
so my words can never hurt Her heart
ever again!

  1. So, I wait
    and I wonder
    with my heart
    in Her hand

Nothing like vulnerability. I’ve been there. But if she loves you, all will be forgiven.

  2. Ah! That feeling! That waiting! Well done, Chuck! It’s a great poem.
