MY SWEET DREAMS

by thereluctantpoet

By Charles Robert Lindholm

We used to make sweet memories

but now I’m making none

every time we danced

you always held me tight

but now I hold no one

We spent our days together

but alone at night I cry

waiting for the “Sweet Dreams”

then wake up to the lie

You’ve gone away and left me

but you never had a choice

in my heart I hear you whispering

oh, I love to hear your voice

Sometimes I think I’m crazy

in this fragile state I’m in

but each night I have my “Sweet Dreams”

where we’re back in love again
