THE NIGHT CRIED

by thereluctantpoet

-Memories of the Past-
By Charles Robert Lindholm

And the night cried
With a shower of tears
In torrents
When it learned
The truth about you
That you were leaving
Us for another
Someone
Something
Somewhere
The night
Threw lightening
Across the sky
At the speed
Of light
And sobbed
And yelled, “NO”
With rolling thunder
It threw hail
At the roof
And walls
And everywhere
Like a child
Who is hurt
Or in pain
I understand
About another
Someone
Something
Somewhere
And it hurt
Me too
But I had to
Let you go
I had to let you
Soar
Without me
the tears
Fell in torrents
As the night
Cried
And
So did I
