This morning the sky was sparkling blue
a pleasant change from the bleak grey hue
that the rain of the past few days drew,
swirling across the bluebell bower
cirrus clouds hold ice but no rain to shower
the wet brown earth and watered flower,
hadidas grot among sodden leaves
fish eagles fly high and soar with ease
their evocative cry my heart does please,
the air is warm, calm and sweet
newly cleansed of the stifling heat
sushine now a mellow, nurturing treat.
