The Blanket

by scatterednotebooks

The blanket has been removed

stripped away

from my eyes

from my grasp

from my body

I am cold

Have I been successfully weaned

or will I simply

replace it with another

phantom blanket

or recover the old

now full of gaping holes

as if eaten by an evil, killer moth

the blanket

warmth, safety

has been removed

Found this in one of my notebooks. I’d forgotten I’d written it.

As always, thank you for reading!
