That time of year

by Harry

Poetry challenge: Christmas poem.
.
Submitted by Paul

A golden angel sits upon the tree
Christmas gifts for you and me
Paper chains hanging from the ceiling
Bringing home the festive feeling
Lights twinkling as dusk draws near
Mince pies and sherry brings good cheer

Sleepless children with gazing eyes
Looking up towards the skies
Father Christmas is on his way
Delivering gifts, come what may
It’s merry Christmas to everyone
Hoping you all have great fun.
