my aunt crafted dolls
with triangular heads
embroidered wide round eyes
hair gold brown or black
gave each face personality
vicious or kind

made clothes of snippets
silk brocade striped cotton
edged with lace or piping

she dressed each doll
named them famous or not
put them on display
sold them at high prices
then grieved their loss
