They say time flies when you are having fun… Well, I guess we’ve been having fun for thirty years.all we have to do is look at each other and crack up over things nobody else thinks is funny… One thing is certain… marriage is a lot more fun if you can laugh together!
We have had our share of troubles and heartaches but each one brought our love and our hearts closer to each other and to God. The first song we ever sang together as a couple was “In The Garden”, “And He walks With me and He talks with me and He tells me I am His own, for the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.” Although words will never be able to express the love we share and being soulmates from the moment we met… I’m going to try…
“Happy 30th anniversary my love, my joy, my best friend, and my soulmate!”
“In The Blink of an Eye”
Our first date, a blind date to see Ray Charles sing,
We laughed, you cried, what would this date bring?
A football game, Italian with the family we tried,
It was going so quickly , in the blink of an eye.
Talking through the night about your kids and the beloved wife lost
Would I be able to handle this love, not sure of the cost?
All I ever wanted was children with which to love, laugh, and cry
God blessed me with four in the blink of an eye.
How blessed I felt each night as I thought
Thank you God for the family I sought.
Help them see me through eyes of love and how hard I tried
To build a home of love and acceptance in the blink of an eye.
As the kids began to marry and our family grew
I still knew who was my soulmate, it was you.
Crying during waves of crises and tears, laughing during joyful tides
Our home stood on solid rock, in the blink of an eye.
So quickly the kids went to college and each found their mates.
We enjoyed our time together, laughing on those weekly dates!
All too soon our parents grew old and weary, never ready for them to die,
Yet, one by one they left us, yes, in the blink of an eye.
As we find ourselves growing older and all the challenges that we face
Laughing, and crying, and holding each other as we run this race.
Knowing the days pass so quickly, making each day count, reaching for the sky
These days are so very precious and they are passing in the blink of an eye.
Reflecting back over our thirty years, oh where did the time go?
It went one day at a time, loving you and not wanting to let go!
Just knowing that through eternity we ‘ll be with Jesus, side by side
Praising God and singing Glory, an eternity of joy In the Blink of an Eye.
