the bones of poetry

by Dave

a mystic spider
across a
and weaves
silver and gold

a tongue
sacred lips
and truth spills
in waterfalls
of ice cool

an eye
aperture captures
rainbows in reverse,
in hues
from onyx black
to cerulean blue

a voice
and silence
tells a story
in the blank
of beautiful brevity,

she is
the bones

This is the second time I’ve reblogged a piece by Dave Kavanagh of Poet’s Corner. His poetry voice has a beautiful classical tone, and will amaze you with his dark themes. So, if you haven’t read his work yet, go to Poet’s Corner now.

  3. I love this! I imagined someone speaking this poem during a poetry slam! Keep up the good work!

  4. Wonderful imagery sparked here Dave. You got skills!
