The Hand

by William

I looked across the room

A hand smiled at me

I smiled back

The hand suddenly appeared next to me

“You move so quickly” I said

“Where’s your arm” I asked

The hand smiled again and said

“It’s been gone a very long time”

We chatted for a while

And then the hand motioned to leave

“See you, Hand” I said

“Remember to cut your nails” I joked

I looked across the room

The place was packed

An eye smiled at me

I smiled back
