I live in silences.

by The Cheesesellers Wife

I live in silences.

The unease of an empty house
The loneliness of children gone
The sadness of a lover away
The concentration of a painting class
The contemplation of piece of art
Busy baking, waiting for family to return
Tramping on a long country walk
Song birds in the garden
Hens around my feet
Quiet to read the difficult book
Peace to find the space where I am me.

  1. What a grand write and how I long for that piece.

This poem is my life currently. I love the closing line. But I did give up on trying to read the difficult book. It just wasn’t worth the effort.

  3. Joyacey, then I hope you find one that is worth the effort! 🙂
