In a time where many have gone crazy
TV, newspapers, internet full of lunacy
It’s getting hard to find anything positive
We see so many feel no reason to live.
I can be thankful for children that care
Keeping in contact from here or there
Everyone is busy with life as we know
Still it is important this love we show.
Memories surround me, current and past
Friends or family, some here, some passed
I can be thankful for so much already shared
Smiling at thoughts of those that really cared.
I am grateful for special love held in my heart
Many years with a soul mate, even if cut short
Continued gratitude for those that still connect
It is with joy that I can remember, sit and reflect.
