These prayers I send
as birds into the sky
Gentle, as flowers bend
to lift clouds from the eye
May this happy new year
bring the Sun to our hearts
To find our near and dear
see the love, we held in parts
May we feel once again
the waters we came from
May we seal wounds of pain
from waters we leave some
May we see the cold we carry
freezing those birds around
May we know tempers we marry
vaporizing love’s nuanced sound
May we be the quiet water
we are meant to be so
To touch every matter
in their own shape tip to toe
May we find edges to hold
with no floor to cling upon
May we flow, as sages told
love stays not, if we not move on
