One Day’s Grace

After three very difficult years, people ask me all the time, how on earth did you make it through all that physically and mentally?  My answer was always grace for only one day at a time because that’s all you ever need anyway, no guarantees of another. All I know is God gives us grace when we need it, comfort when we hurt, joy to last the ages, and peace when there is fear.  Just ask for One Day’s Grace and step back and be amazed at how you’ll make through one day at a time at the foot of the cross.

When mountains loom in front of you so high

Crossing raging rivers trying to swim or die.

Raise your voice to Jesus, ask for One Day’s Grace.

That’s really all you need for what you have to face.

Yesterday is over and today’s grace is all you need

Tomorrow never gets here,  you are surely freed.

Raise your voice to Jesus, ask for One Day’s Grace.

That’s all you really need for what you have to face.

When expectations of love break your heart into

Selfish hearts say mean things that cut right into you.

Raise your voice to Jesus, ask for One Day’s Grace.

That’s all you really need for what you have to face.

Storms of  sickness wreck life, hopes crash to pieces.

Unexpected illness, broken bones,  simple life ceases.

Raise your voice to Jesus, ask for One Day’s Grace.

That’s all you really need for what you have to face.                  April16 golden storm 002

All your realities lie ruined at the bottom of broken dreams

Once dearly loved ones, turning hardened backs it seems.

Raise your voice to Jesus, ask for One Day’s Grace.

That’s really all you need for what you have to face.

Are you just beginning your trial, are you at life’s last wit’s end?

Life has hope at the foot of the cross, Hope lives in dreams that transcend.

Raise your voice to Jesus, ask for One Day’s Grace.

That’s really all you’ll ever need for what you have to face.
