Lost

Drugs sweeten the echo inside
Temporarily
Like a rainbow inside an otherwise drab grey day

I reached out to say ‘hey!’ But too late for my friend
She hauled the anchor
She cut the rope
She set adrift eagerly exploring the smallest mountain
stream to the exciting crushing coast and
beyond into an endless bottomless ocean

Where have you gone my fragile feminine friend?
Your echoes were like the sweet smell of a favourite meal

Now I dine alone
Your spirit soared
Your mind roamed around the world
Now you’ve gone too high
You swim with the sharks
And I’ve lost a beautiful friend
