In the gun-metal grey of midwinter
When cold grips vice-like
and, huddled in blankets
we stay cocooned in the warmth
of a fruitcake and hot tea afternoon
and dream of yellow
Poems, poets, poetry, writing, poetry challenges

Funny how in the Spring I wait breathlessly for the first signs of colour and in December I wait with equal anticipation for the first signs of NO colour = snow 🙂
Snow’s nice – but being by the coast, it’s a rare winter that we see any at all, more’s the pity.
Sweet image. Nice and yellow and warm here in NZ
Luvlyjubs. Enjoy! 😀
