Poem of the Day — Trying Times

by paturnerlee

Trying Times

Tickled by wriggling worms

Germs that mislead and multiply.

Yearn for the sun to shine

Whilst gathering corn in paper sculptured cranes

Carefully crafted to mirror a reflection.

Realisation of dripping running streams

Twinkling in the ear with multiple harmonics contesting.

Star gazing at stars

Selling partnerships in stockings.

Lipstick chaps stick to the window pane

Like frozen ideas unable to change.

Although it all darkens in daytime

Never the cool light of dawn.

A scarf around the apple to keep warm

A storm is coming

A chilled warning that we are together

In the firing line

Our own

String

Tied to the finish line.
