Puddle of words

by Jem Croucher

Puddle-like upon the page
my words would not conform
But when I mixed them up a bit
they started to take form

I jumped in there and made a splash
the words went everywhere
then puddle-like they came right back
and gave me form to share

I scooped them up and threw them
and like rain they fell on me
Refreshed then in a moment
They became my poetry

  1. Poetry… who really knows where it comes from… the words, the pen, you… it’s that unknown dynamic that really entreats the Poet’s soul.
