Shapes of Fear

A tiger, you are
Not a ball of fire
Let me fear not
By your shape
Twitching into my nerves

A tiger, you are
Not a ball of fire
Let me uncover those claws
Now, they seem rusted
Drooping in memories lost

A tiger, you are
Not a ball of fire
Let me touch your stripes
Now, they seem loose
Hung on a hyena’s heart

A tiger, you are
Not a ball of fire
Let me measure your legs
Now, they seem bored
Huddled close, tap to your snore

A tiger, you are
Not a ball of fire
Let me look in your eyes
Now, they seem unscrewed
From your rock hard will

A tiger, so you are not
Let me fear not
Those thoughts I shaped
In stripes of creepy walls
Which made a spider
Of my shape
