November

by Jem Croucher

Leaving the colour
of October behind
I walked into November
with winter in mind
But the ethereal light
spilling there
through the green
made this the warmest
November I’d seen

The path led me onward
but not to the chill
for I remain in the warmth
of Autumn’s goodwill
And though the gold at my feet
will be spent all too soon
for the present I’m staying
in this warm afternoon

  1. If only the days warmth would last. At least your creativity will. Thanks for a comforted transition into winter
