Sunshine came softly through my window today

Andy was still in Vietnam fighting

A badge hidden in that wrapping paper

I’m so glad I had just a spoonful

Of that strange brew, boiling

In a white room with black curtains

Before I’m too dazed and confused

 

It’s only a paper sun

But feels like coloured rain

Smiling phases all around

Damn that hole in my shoe

Just when I thought it was all over

“Ashes & Fire” (the Album) did save me

Including “Dirty Rain” and “Chains of Love”

“Come Home” had me crying like a baby

Ryan Adams, you’re not a pretty man, but you’ve got one hell of a voice
