‘If Life Were a Dream…’

If life were a dream…
Would yours be a fairy tale?
Or something else?

If you could choose the plot—
What would be your lot?

Would anyone choose a tragedy?

  1. Reblogged this on The Militant Negro™.

  2. Strangely enough, I think some would choose tragedy …

    • I don’t disagree 🙂 It seems most popular in culture to avoid tragedy. Then, the view of those who would choose it is generally that they are ‘downers.’ I suppose I’m pondering this most deeply: should tragedy be avoided so desperately? And then, can you avoid something which you have no control over? Whilst I wouldn’t advocate seeking it out; if it comes to us, it seems that we can only endure it or be overcome by it.

      • People knowingly or unknowingly often court tragedy … and not necessarily because they are depressed. As you say, sometimes one can’t avoid tragedy and so one must be strong to face what one can’t avoid. Living with the idea that everything will always be rosy and beautiful btw is one of those ways to cultivate tragedy … thank you for sharing your thoughts … and have a great week Daniel.

      • Oh, so true! Excellent point. Such a fascinating truth, that to have a ‘fairytale’ mentality is one of those ways that one lends themselves to tragedy. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts too 🙂 It’s great to be sharpened by another. Thank you! I hope you have a great week as well.

      • 🙂 Nice talking with you!
