Morning Interruption

by Colly

Turns out the annoying fly from yesterday

waited for me to a-wake – stayed in place.

Buzz Buzz it goes by my computer chair.

Right then left, here then there he travels.

Silence, a pause, he is resting for awhile?

Little eyes may be eyeing when I’ll feast.

When I pour my coffee he’ll swirl my cup.

Some toast on a plate – he’ll happily greet.

The door opens; arms rally for fly to leave.

This fly just whizzes past, skirts my plea.

Airborne fly lingers to vocalize in my ear.

Fly taps on my arm to remind his is near.
