A poet’s life

by Jem Croucher

Sat in a windy garden
In the sunshine with my pen
Wondered what to write about
awaiting inspiration, then
all of a sudden, no warning there
the words began to flow
Freely onto the paper
right in front of me, you know!

It was almost like I wasn’t there
just pausing for a gander
Watching inspiration as a
casual bystander
A poet writing ’bout a poet
writing words within his book
Whilst I stood and took a photo
as I paused to take a look
