Roots

The roots
of the vine
I’ve been told
run incredibly deep
The best wines come from
ancient vines rooted
hundreds of meters
down through
rocky soil

The roots
gather water
Hold it over time
As the season warms
the roots then release it
God’s invisible irrigation
keeping leaves green
grapes sweet
wine rich

Love’s roots
run deep as well
Deep down through
hard soil ~ mysteries
of things done & left undone
Down to aquifers of grace
God always prepares
for the Be`loved
the Be`known

  1. Not only well written but some great information not found in my mind! Thanks very much.

    • Thanks for the gracious comment . . . We drink a glass of wine and never consider at what cost it comes to us . . . Such is Grace . . .
