Shaken

These thoughts
These feelings
Flowers, upon thy hands
Hold pollens each, under wraps
Of two spirits, in one

Shake not so
Lest spirits of feelings outgrow
To bury these thoughts, in their own weight
Or fritter by their own thin flames

Shake not so
Lest spirits of thoughts outgrow
To bury these feelings, in their own weight
Or fritter by their own thin flames

  1. Ah, yes, once again that dialectic present in the two spirits within us . . . Well done!

  2. This poem reminds me of a Buddhist concept referred to as “two but not two,” and describes the dual nature of being both apart from one’s environment yet completely interconnected and dependent on it at the same time. It is the same with our spirits: we are two but not two as both the light and the dark exist within us.

  3. uplifting and edifying 🙂
