Poetry Challenge – Minute Poem – May 22, 2015

by Georgia

Poetry challenge: Minute poem.

Rustic snow with firmaFramed

first lights of dying springtime dawns
birds sing their songs
what lessons learned
will soon be burned

alone I walk forever on
just one more pawn
singing my rhyme
biding my time

what’s the lesson to be found –
on the spring ground
this grass now green
is a passing scene

I’m afraid that technically this is not exactly a minute poem … the iamb isn’t strict and the last line has 5 instead of 4 syllables – but I hope you enjoy the poem anyway. Bastet
