Three Lives

by Venkat

as I see you, up there
in quiet meditation
count every step
every pause, every atom
you vibrate in soft touch
this universe, in hands

your meaning fills me
to caress by mind’s lips
upon the edges of life

you have a child, of swift eyes
galloping in wonder, to touch
every corner, in your painted dream

you have youth, of red vigour
to hold the heart from falling
across those valleys, mountains
that find their way into the eyes

you have wisdom, of age
to catch the silence hidden
in deep caverns of the soul
feet slow, as silence grows

as you hold these chains
glued in a love, together
three lives become one
in a chorus, immortal

thank you, dear clock
