Man’s Passcode

by Venkat

trees, rocks, sand
snakes, lilies, moss
bees, butterflies, sunflower
horses, bears, snow
parrots, hornbills, twig
lions, camels, desert

each with a message
written under their hood
or below their palm

secured by a passcode
unlocked by strange decryption
when we look for the message
not messengers anymore
when we carry the message
not ourselves anymore

here, man but locked, by a passcode
he punched himself, to feel secure
