The empty shell

by Rellick

This river dark, and unrelenting

Boiling eddies draining my marrow

Go swiftly now, leave me tormenting

You’ll not have me tomorrow

Let me hear you’ve gone

For I am at the helm

You must leave me by dawn

Vacate my realm

Cement has mortared your heart

For which there is no cure

We must now part

There is no more allure

You have forsaken my trust

Stepped on my soul

Idolized and lust

Like a vengeful troll

Good bye my love

You were my mate

My little dove

Wait, I now hesitate
