Fifty-Fifty

This blessed life, bestowed in halves

Stories etched on the heart, but half
Keys wound on thoughts we toy, but half
Doors of love on our path open, but half
Castles in Ivory, painted by dreams, but half

To write those stories yet not inked
To key those thoughts yet not complete
To open those doors yet not explored
To paint those visions of ivory yet not seen

But remain souls half, in despair
In dread of the incomplete

And remain souls half, in bliss
Who fill it, to make complete
