The Game

by Tiffany Layne

Life’s the game we all play
Looking for the ace of spades
When the Queen of Hearts
Picks a Jack of Trades,
A full house comes their way!

Everybody says “deal me in”
They go for broke, then play again!
Keep a secret, hide a lie,
See the devil in disguise,
And if you win, Love’s the prize!

Texas girls know how to play,
Stash an ace in the hole
For a rainy day.
She’ll hide her hand to the very end,
Then gamble on love all over again.

When do you fold, when do you stay?
Everybody wants that ace of spades,
But the Queen of hearts
Loves her Jack of Trades,
And everything else falls into place….
