Tendrils

by Venkat

Tendrilas a tendril, splays the heart
twining with ends that never meet
dragged infirm by its own slender weight
till love makes way into the coarse eye
to spiral in tight embrace, carrying self
measure so a weightlessness under its sky
breathe life from dried wood, find pearls on wrinkled stems
standing barren, around its own feet
