At the Lake

by Rev Cheryl Birch

Lake

Water slapping
Bird chirping
Whistle, twitter
Boat dock sitter

Children laughing
Soft breeze blowing
Bobbers afloat
Loud motorboat

Tall pines waving
Butterflies playing
Lots of rocks
Wet socks

Wild flowers bloom
Bees zoom
Giant ants scouting
Someone shouting

Sky so blue
Gorgeous view
Rustic mountains
River fountains

Flies riot
Suddenly quiet
I feel free
Sun warms me

Heart at peace
Sweet release
God’s presence near
His voice I hear
