~ The Awakening

by A. L. O'Prunty

I said unto my love,
(Most earnestly)
Speak of summers past
Speak my love to me:
Of tranquil summer skies
The beauty in a lovers sighs
Seduction of sultry sable nights
With star shine beaming, gleaming bright

 Of hands, hearts clasped together
Unspoken words that promise forever
And tides lapping at our toes
While lost in passions consuming throes
Of cares, cast to wine and song
Off key we’d happily sing along
As the rhythm of the sea
Became part of you, part of me…
My heart has had its winter
Pleads, “lust for life reenter”
Speak of summers past
I thirst for life at last!

  2. Very sweet and loving. Two almost lost in love in a beautiful way! Nicely penned!
