Sneakily it’s crept up and
caught us totally off our guard
Like listening to an echo
whispered from afar
Straining to hear those still soft words
That far off echoed call
A mystery still to most our ears
A stranger to us all
But now with recognition
with the warming rays of sun
We remember all those halcyon days
And the smiles and the fun
And as the stranger once again returns
In the sun, that sweet refrain
gets louder by the day it seems
As spring comes back again
