Steps Times Two

by mkvecchitto

steps cover

Wandering through this life

I carved a path

with deliberate intention

Not noticing the snarled swath

of disarray I created

that documented each wrong turn

It wasn’t until I stumbled

into the brokenness

named the Valley of the Lost

that I realized this path

would not bring me

to the destination I sought
Retracing my steps

Steps Times Two

I paused for a moment

to catch my breath and retie my shoes

before I ventured off

in a new direction
Now as I wander

I carve a path

with thoughtful objectives

Gratified by the beautiful landscape

of small victories I created

that celebrates each sure-footed adventure

  1. The way home is but half as long as we had thought; the way forward is twice as full as we had dared hope . . . Such is grace . . . Blessings . . .
