~ Sickbed Soliloquies ~

~ Sickbed Soliloquies ~

Between fears and tears
The mind wanders
Hikes in deep dark ravines
Shoots to heavenly heights
Conversations bounce
Back and fourth
As a ping pong ball
Of resolutions
Apologies
Regrets
Silent prayers…

Self seeking solace
Comfort from the intangible
Enfolds the feeble hearted
Holds steadfast the dreamer
Holding onto hope
As life’s last resource
Despair takes up residence
If not guarded
A sentinel of the soul
Stands alert
Protecting the sick
From slipping beyond darkness
Out of reach
Here we beg to die
Long to live
In our Sickbed Soliloquies
