A Valentine Handmaiden

by Colly

Poetry challenge: Valentines day poem.

Lord you see me as I am.
Struggling within mortal wings.
A weak vessel.

Flapping to no avail.
Despite desperate attempts hitherto.
Your delicate, white, moth all pasty like.

And yet I fear you don’t understand me.
But then you remind you know me well.
In fact you designed my entire being.

Formidable breath, still, doth overtake.
Shadows of my past cause sorrow.
Hope for tomorrow is, seemingly, lost.

Fill my cup oh Lord ~ refresh a-new.
That I may be found secure in you.
On Valentines and always.
