Poem & Image by  Wendy Norman (Seafarrwide)

Wind whistles through the trees

Soft steps swish wet grass

Daffodils strewn along the path

Flashes of yellow shimmering

Striking a cord with the living

Some flopping their petals

Against the prickly nettles

Others twirling and dancing in the breeze

Creation’s wand a glorious simplicity

A golden visual symphony

Breeze ripples over the lake

Rustling ducks in hazardous wake

Birds of prey swept out of trees

Their shadows  creep over me

Seeking stray animals to snare

Natures power swept through my hair

A poet’s pen dripped vibrant ink

In shadows of the aqua sink

Flashing thoughts cross my eyes

Remembering why I am alive

Stirring whirls of creativity

Surrounded by such vibrant company

Thoughts sift through my sullen mood

What makes the bliss of my solitude

Energy renewed my heart does fill

As I dance with the daffodils
