Epiphany

by Peter Notehelfer

Such a fine mist
sifts through streetlights
sand through an hourglass
except finer than sand
lighter than light

The mist swirls
among currents invisible
stardust through solar wind
except softer than suns
closer than stars

We are the mist
all unseen & unseeing
droplets of water evaporated
except gentler than rain
lovelier than ice

Such a fine mist
sifts through the Light
Light by which all see light
except darker than blind
blinder than dark
