Think on us no more
The flower
The beauty of youth
Has forsaken us
Left us waning
And wanting
Time hurried
Rushed through our days
Wormed its way through
Bones and all
Once supple and fair
Age mares
Candle wax faces
And crooked smiles
But wait, wait…
I stand corrected
From self absorbed
Observation
My lament;
More beautiful
You have never been
As the heart, ageless
You bare
Uninhibited
Time has done nothing
To deminish
Life light
Reflected in your eyes
Your melodic voice;
Sing to me
Of summers past
November rains
And the wisdom
That now reigns
In our remaining days
Sing to me.
