Quiet Surrender

Sitting quietly, lost in thought
Remembering lessons taught
Reflecting on days passed by
Choices made, wondering why.

Unknown is the path of life
Will it bring pleasure or strife
We walk along always knowing
Guideposts not always showing.

So we do our best to see ahead
Often times, we feel we’re lead
Hand in hand, our heart we share
Hoping they will take loving care.

If you can’t seem to communicate
You’ll probably learn, often too late
Without sharing thoughts so tender
Each drifts away, quiet surrender.
