say something i’m giving up on you.

by suicidallyanonymous

She is topless,
a tarnished fountain
of marble despair.
And the world is a golf ball
with grass stains

and water marks; she holds
it between her teeth
at night.

The boy with too much
dirty, scary l-o-v-e denies
polluting the air she breathes
with his tumbleweeds
of raspberry recklessness.

Someone should tell her
that her feet have snapped
like flagpoles, and
her hair has twisted into
a bird’s nest.
But they know she hungers
for a cure
to fizzle regret
from the olive pit in her eyes.
 So they’ll sigh
and wait for her to bleed.
