Hope

The boy hopes
for man`hood
as the tree longs
to be a house

His strong life
built high up on
a cleared ridge lit
but by moonlight

Cedar’fragrant
within warm & dry
with windows wide as
wave opened seas

The old man
hopes for child`hood
as the apple longs
to be an orchard

Firm flesh now
turned punky pale
under thinning waxy
wrinkled skin

Only the bitter`
sweet seeds Songs
un`Sung Star`like
hide at the core

The boy hopes
for everything
The old man longs
for but one
