the gap
holes in our plate of life
we ever try to fill
for fear of it slipping through

the gap
steps away from ‘the’ life
we ever try to climb
for fear of losing a ‘better’ living

the gap
torn patches of our life
we ever try to cover
for fear of revealing failures

the gap
we ever want to bridge
lies as a void in a sponge
as deep as our feet push down

human spirit made to ‘awaken’, not ‘attain’
to see our own weighted sight
mis-shaping it
