Icebergs

by Venkat

Iceberg

icebergs floating in sea
truths deep underneath
as uneven edges disagree
in cold waters we breathe

strengths veiled from light
in unison wading across, same
eyes set upon peaks in sight
wisdom dead in dark, tame

by silhouettes, lines we draw
wrapped into dark night vision
flames placed wrong by flaw
our minds trace along illusion

hands feel not love invisible
heart beats submerged deep
sounds too distant, inaudible
truth in a cloak for eyes asleep

until icy death lays its hand
we are gone from ourselves
woken from a dream, grand
where a feeling unfelt delves

one day the Sun would gleam
brighter than the red volcanic fire
waterline receding as rays beam
to find our common floor inspire
